The Position:

As part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, the Clinical Nurse Specialist will:

  • Undertake the delivery of specialist services to clients of Child and Adolescents Mental Health Services (CAMHS) based on best practice principles and within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework and promotes community awareness in relation to mental health.
  • Provide clinical leadership and expert knowledge in all aspects of primary health care, utilising an advanced clinical practice framework for the management of clients with complex mental health needs within the designated area of practice.
  • Develop, implement, coordinate and evaluate programs and activities to improve client outcomes within the multidisciplinary team.

About H2HK Tasmania:

H2HK Tas is an integrated secondary level mental health service for emerging complexity for the 0-12 year age group and represents an important addition to a child and family mental health stepped care model in Tasmania.

This early intervention service enables families to access a range of evidence based individual and group interventions and supports for mild to moderate emotional, behavioural, social, relational, and developmental challenges.

The Head to Health Kids Tas service works with families, and universal, secondary, and tertiary service providers, to provide integrated and holistic care. The Department for Education, Children and Young People (DECYP) is a key co-service partner.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term, full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2026.

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $106,570 - $112,440 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
  • Current Working with Children Registration

*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.

  • Minimum of 2 years post graduate experience in an area relevant to the role
  • Postgraduate qualification or working towards a postgraduate qualification relevant to the role
