St John of God Bunbury Hospital is a modern facility serving the regional communities of WA's south west coastal towns, including the regional city of Bunbury, and its major centres comprising of Collie, Busselton and Margaret River. It is co-located on the South West Health Campus with the public hospital, with 145 beds, the hospital is considered one of the finest private hospitals in regional WA surrounded by beautiful lakeside gardens.
Your Role
An opportunity is available for an experienced Rostering Officer to join our small on-site team at St John of God Bunbury Hospital.
Reporting to the Access Manager, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining rostering and scheduling processes to meet the requirements of the Clinical Wards, working in partnership with Nurse Unit Managers (NUM), and After-Hours Nurse Managers (AHM) to achieve an effective and efficient clinical caregiver rostering service in line with organisational goals.
The role is offered on a Permanent part time basis, working 15.2 hours per week.
The Position
- Responsible for managing the daily exceptions across the clinical wards, raising anomalies with the Access Manager and/or NUMs.
- Day-to-day rescheduling of shifts and rosters, including caregiver deployment across wards to cover unplanned changes and ensure suitable skill mix.
- Maintain accurate records within the Rostering system to ensure Caregiver timesheets are accurate for fortnightly submission to Payroll.
- As a matter of priority, provide support to the Access Manager, NUMs and AHNCs for all shift allocation requirements during standard working hours of the clinical ward(s).
- Ensure that available shifts are advertised for vacancies in the rosters and communicate with NUMs when vacancies are filled and unfilled, assisting to trouble-shoot caregiver shortages.
- Reconcile leave information between MyPay and the rostering system for day to day leave management and updating future rosters with caregiver planned leave.
- Ensure timely publishing of schedules as per EBA guidelines
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the principles of rostering and scheduling processes as required to meet multiple departmental needs. You will be working in partnership with Managers and Team Leaders to deliver an effective and efficient employee rostering service.
Strong attention to detail and well developed interpersonal and communication skills will ensure your success in this role. Current knowledge of UKG system or similar programs will be highly regarded.

- Salary: $72,103 to $82,250 per annum (pro-rata), plus 11.5% superannuation
- Permanent Part-Time position, working 15.2 hours a week.
