Workfast is seeking an experienced Street Sweeper Operator to join a busy city maintenance crew in Canberra. You will be responsible for operating street sweeping equipment to maintain clean roads, footpaths, and public areas, while also assisting with general outdoor maintenance duties.

Hours: 6:30 am – 2:36 pm
Start: Immediate
Pay: $34.08 per hour + OT + super
Work-Life Balance: Weekday-only shifts – no weekends

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a street sweeper across urban and suburban roadways
• Navigate a variety of terrains and conditions while maintaining public cleanliness
• Perform pre-start checks and routine maintenance on machinery
• Assist with general maintenance and cleaning tasks as needed
• Travel between designated sites around Canberra
• Follow instructions from site supervisors and work in accordance with safety guidelines
• Maintain cleanliness, efficiency, and proper care of equipment

What You’ll Need:

• Full working rights in Australia
• White Card
• Manual Driver’s Licence (MR or HR highly advantageous)
• Proven experience operating street sweepers or similar vehicles
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all conditions
• A strong commitment to safety, cleanliness, and professionalism
• High attention to detail and a strong work ethic
