About the role
Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton is offering an exciting opportunity for an Administration Support Officer to join our team in a dynamic and varied role. This casual position involves working across both clinical wards and administrative areas.
In this role, you will provide essential administrative support to Nurse Unit Managers and clinical teams, helping to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care throughout the hospital.
Salary range: $38.81 - $43.16 per hour + 25% casual loading + 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
- Support hospital-wide administration, ensuring adherence to procedures within wards/clinical areas
- Maintain accurate and current patient records, results, and documentation
- Keep patient management systems updated with relevant details and statuses
- Facilitate completion of billing and discharge documentation, ensuring timely processing
- Assist the revenue team with financial checks and patient expense collections
- Handle internal/external inquiries professionally via phone, in person, and electronically
- Support pre-admission and admission processes as needed
- Manage stock and imprest levels, ensuring orderly and compliant storage
- Maintain a tidy nursing station with strict confidentiality of patient information
About you
To be successful in your application you will have:
- High level of customer service, interpersonal and written communication skills
- Excellent phone manners
- Demonstrated ability to provide efficient and effective administration support in a timely and organised manner
- Previously experience in a hospital or health care environment (highly desired)
- Accurate data entry skills with a high-level computer proficiency, including in Microsoft Office and departmental data bases and other software applications
- Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Certificate III in Health Administration, or similar is desirable but not essential
