JOB TITLE: Qualified Refrigeration Mechanic / HVAC specialist

JOB TYPE: Full-Time Mon to Fri - 40 paid hours per week

OVERVIEW

Interlandi Refrigeration & Air Conditioning is a small, family-run, well-established, reputable heating and cooling company based in Hawthorn East. We do new installations, servicing and maintenance across both residential and commercial properties and are looking for 2 x qualified, reliable and autonomous refrigeration mechanics to join our growing team.

This positions are for fully qualified, experienced refrigeration mechanics to work within our installation and/or service and maintenance teams. Working for and alongside the company owner and Operations Manager at head office, this role is offers opportunity for growth and comes with an excellent salary, car & superannuation package.

The role offers a really good variety of work across the Melbourne Metro area, and is best suited to someone who genuinely enjoys and is experienced in either the installation or the service and maintenance side of the heating and cooling industry - or who likes to do a combination of both.

Mature attitude with an excellent work ethic, ability to proactively solve problems, take the initiative and deliver a consistently high level of installs. repairs, customer service and work well within a team is a must. Great attention to detail, commitment to always doing a high quality of work, no cutting corners, great communicator, reliable and knows what they are doing. Support from owner and colleagues always available to collaborate and solve problems. Great support on site from quality labourers and apprentices to get job done right first time every time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct site inspections to accurately evaluate repair/installation requirements.

Provide information for quotes including accurate details of materials and labour required to head office, including supporting photographs.

Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair faults in heating/cooling refrigeration equipment such as condensers, compressors, evaporators & control systems.

Carry out planned preventative maintenance on residential heating & cooling and refrigeration equipment.

Maintain company vehicle with all tools, equipment, parts/stock needed to complete servicing and maintenance efficiently onsite first time.

Proactively pre-empt issues and problems for best, most efficient results for both us and the customer – not cutting corners.

Make informed, appropriate decisions using your experience and discretion to based on the situation at hand to get the job done right and to our standards.

Clearly communicate any unforeseen issues or changes to plans to both customer and head office in a timely manner Eg. Need for replacements/upgrades.

Liaise with colleagues, including company owner and operations manager throughout the day as needed to find the best solutions for the customer and us.

Maintain detailed records of all work carried out in the current job system.

Ensure professional team performance and presentation is always clean and tidy.

Deliver exceptional customer service, always being courteous and respectful.

Ensure all completed jobs are invoiced and sent with right info at end of each day.

Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, best practice guidelines and company policies.

Proactively and autonomously stay up to date with the latest HVAC technologies & market trends.

Promote and upsell our company services wherever possible

Share and communicate any observations, trends, opportunities or threats you feel may impact the business and work with us to maximise or mitigate.

QUALIFICATIONS

Certificate III in Air Con & Refrigeration or;

Certificate III in Mechanical Plumbing

ARCtick Refrigerant Handling License

Restricted Electrical License or D License

Drivers License

Working with Children Check

White Card

Criminal Record Check
