We have various full-time and part-time opportunities available at our Geraldton Residential College commencing ASAP

1 x 3-month fixed term, full-time Boarding Supervisor – Female

1 x 3-month fixed term, full-time Boarding Supervisor – Male

The minimum starting remuneration for this position (salary plus loading) is $93,867 per annum, increasing each year of successful service to $100,643.

The Role - Boarding Supervisor

As a Boarding Supervisor you will support and reinforce appropriate values and behaviours of students, fulfilling duty of care requirements in line with Department policy and respecting and embracing diversity within the student population.

You will provide and supervise opportunities which support the academic, social, emotional and physical development of students. You will plan and implement a wide range of activities suitable for students to participate in, ensuring students receive appropriate care that supports their wellbeing.

In addition, the successful applicant will regularly communicate with colleagues, parents, school staff and others involved in supporting student education, development and wellbeing.

You will perform shift work, which may include active overnight supervision during the lights out period.

Being an active team player with a history of working with youth, previous experience in the Education Sector and/or transferable skills will be highly regarded.

Eligibility

For these positions, the person's gender is a genuine occupational qualification (Equal Opportunity Act 1984). Only applicants possessing the required qualification will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

To work with us, you must:

  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • consent to a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit.
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check if required
  • work according to rostered hours which may include nights, weekends and public holidays;
  • obtain (prior to first rostered shift working with students) and maintain a current:
  • First Aid Certificate – Provide CPR (HLTAID001)
  • First Aid Certificate – Provide First Aid (HLTAID003)
  • within six months of commencement of employment obtain and maintain a current:
  • LR Class Driver’s Licence and a Passenger Transport Driver (PTD) authorisation;
  • Aquatic Rescue for Group III Pool Award*; and
  • Surf Rescue Certificate*;
  • obtain a Certificate IV in Community Services – Student Residential Care (CHC42021) within six months of commencement of employment.

* Dependent on operational requirements as determined by College Manager.
