About the Role
The overall purpose of the Student Engagement Officer - International is to provide engagement activities and events and manage airport pickup services to commencing and enrolled international students.
This position collaborates with internal stakeholders to coordinate the campus Cultural Events program and delivery of International Orientation and Welcome activities.
This is a full time position at an HEP 5, $76,459 - $87,825 plus 17% superannuation, classification working 36.75 (1.0 FTE) hours per week over a fixed-term contract period until 11/09/2026.
While this role is based at our Footscray Park campus, there will be frequent travel to other campuses required.
About You
You’re passionate about enhancing the experience of international students and supporting their transition to life in Melbourne. With a strong understanding of student wellbeing and inclusion, you’re committed to developing programs that foster connection, belonging, and engagement at Victoria University.
Highly organised and proactive, you’re able to coordinate multiple events and activities—such as airport arrivals, International Orientation, and ongoing engagement initiatives—while effectively managing timelines, budgets, and compliance requirements.
Your excellent communication and stakeholder management skills enable you to work collaboratively with students, colleagues, and external partners.
Experience in developing culturally responsive programs, along with an understanding of the international student experience in a tertiary education context, would be a desirable attribute.
