Construction Riggers

Cobra Asia Pacific Pty Ltd is looking for full time employees as Intermediate or Advanced Construction Riggers. You will be expected to assemble and install rigging gear, including, ropes, cables, pulleys and winches, to position structural steel and other heavy materials for the construction of transmission network infrastructure.

The Project

Central West Orana

Cobra Asia Pacific Pty Ltd is part of a consortium including Acciona that have entered into a commitment deed with EnergyCo as preferred network operator for the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ). This will be serviced by new transmission network infrastructure, including transmission lines and energy hubs, which will transfer power generated by solar and wind farms to electricity consumers.

Our minimum requirements for this role are:

• Can perform any of the duties Transmission Structure Hardware Installer ( Assisting Overhead Transmission Lines person/s to install Transmission Structure Hardware)

• Can perform duties outlined above and any of the following work according to skills/qualifications;
• Can operator brakes, winches and associated rigging equipment to position steel units.
• Can assist overhead transmission lines person/s to string overhead transmission conductors.

• High Risk Work Licence (Rigger Intermediate, and/or Advanced)
• For Intermediate Rigger have successfully completed UETDRT0016 - Installing Transmission Structure Hardware or equivalent OR
• For Advanced Rigger has successfully completed Certificate II - Transmission Line Construction UET20422 OR
• You must meet the minimum requirements to be enrolled with a Registered Training Organisation RTO that can deliver a High Risk Work Licence (NSW) specific to rigging and/or Certificate II Transmission Line Construction.
• You must be able to demonstrate expertise in relevant transmission line technologies, safety standards and work conditions, noting specific requirements for transmission line work in Australia.
• Strong safety awareness.

Enjoy a competitive remuneration package in accordance with the Building and Construction General On-Site Award 2020; the Electrical, Electronic and Communications Contracting Award 2020 and the Electrical Power Industry Award 2020. Base hourly rates of $46.09 (Intermediate Rigger) and $48.39 (Advanced Rigger) with a base take home package starting at $100,000 (not including overtime). Salaries will vary based on the specific roster arrangements.

Camp Accommodation

Central West Orana

Workers will be engaged on a 14/7 roster and will be provided with camp accommodation. The primary camp will be located in Merotherie, NSW. Camp facilities include dry and wet mess, recreational activities room, covered sports field, outdoor sports field, gym, medical centre, BBQ areas, community room and an onsite convenience store.
