About the opportunity
Under the leadership and guidance of the Supervising Scientist in Haematology, you will be bringing your scientific skills and expertise to efficiently perform manual and automated diagnostic testing and performing all routine procedures in the area of Haematology on a rotating roster including weekends.
Applications should possess the following:
Applicants shall possess an AIMS accredited degree (Bachelor of Applied Science - Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent) with subjects in Haematology, Coagulation and Blood Banking.
Demonstrated experience, knowledge, expertise and skills within a NATA-accredited diagnostic Haematology laboratory (minimum 1 year post-graduate experience).
Demonstrated experience in one or more sections of Morphology, Blood Banking, and/or Special Coagulation will be highly regarded.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities:
Adhering to company and quality policies and procedures.
Sound knowledge of QC and troubleshooting.
Maintaining and utilising analysers and equipment.
Ability to prioritise and organise workflow efficiently and safely.
Participating in all the relevant QAP and internal education programs.
Demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision and with a high degree of independence.
Availability to work on a rotating 24/7 roster which includes overnights, weekends and public holidays.
