THE CLIENT

Our client, a respected and established residential builder based in Port Melbourne, is looking for a talented and driven Product Development Draftsperson to join their team. With a strong project pipeline and a youthful, collaborative drafting team, they’re looking to bring someone on board immediately following a recent resignation.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Product Development Manager, this role is focused on producing and checking master and display plans to ensure documentation is accurate, compliant, and buildable. You’ll play a vital role in the end-to-end drafting process for standard residential projects and display homes.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Producing and checking detailed architectural master and display plans using Revit
• Ensuring all drawings align with company standards and meet regulatory and building requirements
• Auditing Revit models and applying master drafting checklists for compliance
• Issuing final documentation according to master drafting procedures and timelines
• Collaborating with internal teams to ensure quality and consistency across all documentation

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

To be successful, you’ll need:

• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a similar drafting role (residential volume building essential)
• High-level proficiency in Revit, with minimum 3 years of experience (AutoCAD not suitable)
• A Diploma in Building Design or similar is ideal, but relevant experience is key
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work autonomously
• A proactive attitude with a genuine drive to get things done right the first time
• Strong communication and time management skills
