About the role

Lifeline Mid Coast is seeking an experienced Retail Divisional Manager to oversee the operations of their network of retail stores across the Port Macquarie region. As a full-time position, this critical role will be responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team to deliver exceptional customer service and drive profitable growth across the retail division.

What you'll be doing

Strategic Leadership

Report directly to the CEO and Board, driving the strategic vision for Lifeline Mid Coast’s retail operations.

Develop and implement annual retail strategies aligned with organizational goals and mission.

Drive financial performance through effective budgeting, cost control, and sales growth initiatives.

Represent Lifeline Mid Coast in industry partnerships, charity retail forums, and stakeholder engagements.

Operational Management

Oversee the day-to-day functioning of retail outlets, ensuring compliance with WHS, leasing regulations, and inventory control.

Conduct audits, inspections, and shop reviews to assess operational efficiency and retail performance.

Ensure stores adhere to Lifeline Mid Coast’s shop layout standards and presentation guidelines.

Monitor stock levels, pricing strategies, and sales trends to optimize retail performance.

People Leadership & Culture

Lead, mentor, and support Shop Managers, Supervisors, and volunteers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management processes to maintain workforce effectiveness.

Ensure a trauma-informed approach to staff and volunteer engagement, promoting a safe and inclusive workplace.

Provide direct support to Shop Managers in complex operational matters as needed.

Stakeholder Engagement & Community Relations

Build strong relationships with internal business units, including Marketing, Finance, and Volunteer Services.

Strengthen partnerships with local community organizations, donors, and industry stakeholders.

Promote Lifeline Mid Coast’s presence through outreach initiatives, fundraising efforts, and community engagement programs.

Compliance & Governance

Ensure adherence to commercial and employment law, WHS regulations, and consumer protection standards.

Maintain oversight of leasing agreements, property maintenance, and vehicle scheduling requirements.

Champion sustainability efforts, including recycling and ethical waste management practices.

What we're looking for

Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as business, retail management or a related discipline

Relevant retail management experience with strong knowledge of sales strategies, inventory control, and financial management.

Experience in business development and strategy, experience/skills/knowledge.

Experience in the not-for-profit sector an advantage.

Proven experience in leading and developing a diverse and cross functional workforce including experience with volunteers.

Knowledge and experience in retail leasing facilities and facility management.

Knowledge and experience in fleet management including scheduling of maintenance.

Demonstrated ability to drive service excellence, quality improvement and positive cultures.
