TOM People is partnering with a high-growth, multi-site services business to recruit a analysis focused contractor to support the CFO during a critical payroll review project.

This newly created role has been driven by a recent company-wide salary uplift and implementation of a new payroll system. The CFO is seeking a meticulous and analytical accountant to audit payroll records and validate the accuracy of payments across the business.

Role responsibilities:

Conduct a detailed line-by-line audit of payroll transactions following a recent salary uplift across the workforce

Validate Employment Hero system outputs to ensure correct setup and calculation of wages, leave, and entitlements

Reconcile employee records and identify any anomalies or inconsistencies in payroll data

Liaise with payroll and HR to follow up on discrepancies or required adjustments

Prepare clear, audit-ready documentation and reports for internal stakeholders

Provide insights and recommendations for payroll data integrity improvements

About you:

CA-qualified accountant with 4+ years of audit experience, ideally from a Big 4 background

High attention to detail, comfortable working independently and owning the review process

Strong reconciliation skills and confidence working through large datasets

Able to commit to a 5-day on-site role for 6 weeks with an immediate start
