Role Overview
Under the guidance of the Leading Hand, you'll tackle various hydraulic and mechanical fitting tasks on Komatsu and Joy Mining equipment. This includes assembling, troubleshooting, and maintaining hydraulic systems and components.
Your responsibilities will involve interpreting hydraulic schematics to build and diagnose circuits, routing and fitting hydraulic hoses, and performing general fitting work to ensure equipment meets specifications. You'll engage in hands-on work with hydraulic systems, identifying faults, and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
Success in this role requires a solid grasp of hydraulic principles, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. You'll be part of a supportive environment that values initiative, safety, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications for Success
To excel in this role, you'll need a relevant Mechanical Trade qualification and a Certificate of Proficiency. Confidence in reading and interpreting technical drawings and hydraulic schematics, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety in every task are essential.
Additionally, you'll bring:
- A proactive and precise approach to mechanical work
- Basic computer literacy for reporting and documentation
- Additional certifications such as Dogging, EWP, and Forklift are highly valued
