We are seeking an experienced water industry professional ready to take the next step to join our team delivering essential services across SA Water’s infrastructure. Whether you’re already in a leadership role or looking to grow into one, this is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership, support others, and help maintain the systems that keep South Australia running.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Carrying out maintenance, repairs and upgrades on SA Water’s water and sewer networks, across the metropolitan area of Adelaide and CBD.

Identifying and locating underground assets, based on designs.

Isolating and recharging water mains safely and efficiently as part of planned and emergency maintenance works.

Managing permits, organising subcontractors, and handling planning tasks, including GIS updates.

Taking on a wide variety of jobs — from complex pipe repairs and fault investigations to working on trunk mains, PRVs, and pump stations.

Leading small crews, coordinating daily work, and stepping into Supervisor responsibilities when required.

Conducting site inspections, ensuring work is completed in line with safe work procedures and standards (SWMS).

Mentoring team members, supporting their development and assisting supervisors with performance feedback and growth plans.

A Strong Focus on Safety:

Leading safety briefings and training sessions for crews.

Mentoring others on safe work practices and fostering a positive safety culture.

Conducting risk assessments, participating in safety audits, and identifying improvements to current procedures.

Maintaining a strong safety record, with a proactive, zero-incident approach to every task.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience in the water industry or a relevant trade (civil construction, plumbing, etc.).

Skilled at organising work, solving problems, and leading by example on-site.

Willingness to work overtime and participate in shift work, including after-hours and weekend, as required to support network operations and impact on customers.

Solid understanding of tools, infrastructure, and safety systems.

A collaborative mindset and the ability to work respectfully with team members, SA Water, Alliance partners, and subcontractors.

What You’ll Get:

The chance to play a meaningful role in maintaining essential public infrastructure.

Working with a national organisation that has multiple opportunities.

Discounts- Employee rewards program and employee discounts across hundreds of businesses such as Woolworths, Air BNB, The Iconic, JB HI-FI, Dan Murphys, Bupa Health Care, Specsavers and many more! We also offer access to novated leasing.
