Account Officer
Location: Sydney, Australia
Salary Range: AUD 80,000 - 90,000

About the role

Fulton Market Group is seeking an experienced Finance Officer to join our dynamic team in our Sydney office. This full-time position will be responsible for providing comprehensive financial support and reporting to the Finance department. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial records and processes.

What you'll be doing

Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations

Take ownership of accounts receivable processes, including issuing customer invoices, reconciling incoming payments, and following up on outstanding balances

Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports

Support the month-end and year-end close processes

Assist with tax-related activities, including preparing BAS, GST, payroll tax and FBT filings, and ensuring compliance with relevant tax obligations

Perform data analysis and provide insights to support decision-making

Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial information and support

Participate in special projects and ad-hoc tasks as required

What we're looking for

Tertiary qualification in Accounting or a related field

3-5 years of relevant experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably in a fast-paced environment

Strong understanding of accounting principles, processes, and reporting

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Proficient in using financial software and spreadsheet applications (NetSuite is a plus)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
