Prodigy Martial Arts Australia is seeking a dedicated and passionate Taekwondo Sports Development Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will develop and deliver high quality training programs, provide mentorship to the students and athletes, organise and manage Taekwondo related events and competitions, and promote the sport within the community. This role requires a passionate individual who is committed to fostering skill development, safety, and sportsmanship, and community engagement within the Taekwondo environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Development and Training
- Lead Taekwondo training sessions for students of all levels, focusing on skill progression and alignment with Taekwondo standards
- Design and implement skill enhancement training exercises to improve overall student/athlete performance
Sports Development and Community Engagement
- Coach and mentor students and athletes, focusing on technique and sportsmanship
- Support students and athletes in reaching their training goals through structured assessments
- Promote and expand Taekwondo programs through interclub partnership, community events and promotional activities
- Organise and coordinate grading days, competitions and interclub training sessions
- Encourage participation of new students by running introductory programs, mall kiosks, and outreach initiatives
Event Coordination and Administration
- Assist in planning, budgeting, and coordinating events such as in-house competitions, interclub training and school holiday camps
- Conduct regular instructor boot camps to train junior instructors
- Supervise students and athletes during competitions and events
- Maintain a positive and supportive training environment
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain training facilities
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in Taekwondo instruction, sports program development or sports coaching
- A diploma or certification in Physical Education, Sports Management, Sports Science or a related field is highly regarded
- Strong background in Taekwondo, with experience in coaching and training students at varying ages and fitness levels and ability to develop structured training programs
- Proven Ability to train students and athletes for participation in local, national and international tournaments is preferred
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, and excellent event planning skills
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and mentor other students
- At least 3rd Dan belt qualification in Taekwondo
- Recognised Taekwondo coaching certification or equivalent training experience
- Clear criminal record
- Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Deeply passionate about Martial Arts and self-development
