Birali Steiner School is a developing, innovative and vibrant Steiner School, in Beachmere just north of Brisbane on Moreton Bay. It presently operates with a Principal, a Leadership Team, Class Teachers, Teacher Aides, an Individual Enrichment Team, Administration Team and Maintenance Team with approximately 160 students. The school is accredited P-10 and in 2025 there are classes of Prep, Classes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5/6, 7/8 and 9/10. The school is situated on a 26-acre greenfield site with the long-term vision for a K-12 school.

All staff employed by Birali Steiner School are expected to support our Steiner Education philosophy.
The Educational Mentor, as part of the Leadership Support Team, will:
Arrange regular mentor meetings with new teachers.
Arrange professional observations and follow ups with all education staff.
Provide ongoing regular support to teachers, especially relating to Steiner pedagogy.
Attend meetings with BLT and report regular updates regarding:
support and observations for education staff
any performance concerns for education staff
teaching and learning development across the grades
Work collaboratively with the Principal and Assistant Principal to ensure that the curriculum planning and delivery of education across all grades is of a high standard and is responsive to changing needs and demands of a developing school.
Conduct observations and appraisals for teaching staff, in collaboration with the Principal and Assistant Principal
Work with teaching staff to achieve professional development goals.
Key selection criteria:
Strong interpersonal skills that foster a collaborative environment.
Ability to triage on a daily basis, with strong time management, organisational and record-keeping skills.
Demonstrated effective mentoring and exemplary teaching practices.
Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, parents and broader community members.
Moderate ICT skills.
Demonstrated experience and strong understanding of Anthroposophy and Steiner pedagogy.
Strong communication and personal organisational skills.
The role is 0.4 FTE (2 days per week) with the potential for additional days as permanent relief teacher if interested.
Birali Steiner School employs under the conditions in the MA000077: Educational Services (Teachers) Award 2020, based on qualifications and years of experience. Birali Steiner School pays above award rates. There is a Leadership Allowance associated with this role.
