We just had the briefing with the hiring manager, and his manager, Director Enterprise Architecture and Strategy. The Director did all the talking. He explained that they are seeking an Enterprise Strategy Consultant who will be redefining the ICT strategy, and Enterprise Architectural Roadmap for the next 5 years, as well as aligning it with their Digital Strategy. This is a core position in the Enterprise Architecture & Strategy team and is crucial to its success. The last Roadmap was set at the start of 2019, which was a 7-year Roadmap, so concludes at the end of 2025. He mentioned that they already have 3 such consultants in the team, one perm and two contractors, the last contractor coming onboard a year ago, and they’ll likely need another person, soon after they onboard this position.
Required skills & experience:
10 years+ within Enterprise and/or Program Architecture; NOT Solution(s) Architecture. We are not seeking an Architect, rather a Strategy Consultant who has in-depth knowledge and experience across Enterprise Architecture.
Must have experience developing Enterprise Architecture Strategy within Government (NSW Transport, Education, Health, DCS etc)
Ideally, must have come from one of the top 4 or 5 Consultancies i.e., Accenture, Deloitte, Capgemini, PwC, and KPMG, possibly Tata (TCS), IBM etc.
Must have experience with ICT strategy as well as Enterprise Strategy; experience writing Strategy, with strong written and documentation skills
Must have experience defining Enterprise Architectural Roadmaps
Must have experience with Application Reference Model (RFM), Technical Reference Model (TRM), Architecture Building Blocks (ABB), Solution Building Blocks (SBB) etc.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of TOGAF (certification in TOGAF or equivalent, but not essential). Other certification is expected for someone of this level, covering a broad background e.g., Cloud, Network, Database etc.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and experience in dealing with complex situations
Must be a team player, able to work within a large team and under pressure.
