Council’s Parks & Recreation Branch is recruiting for a Senior Arborist. Do you have what it takes to maintain the trees that shape our parks and streetscapes while keeping our green spaces safe, healthy, and beautiful for the whole community.
About the Opportunity
Help shape and care for the trees that define our streets and parks. From planting to pruning, inspections to equipment use, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our urban landscape safe, green and thriving.
What you will bring
Ideally the successful applicant will have the following:
- Minimum Certificate III in Arboriculture.
- Hold Woodchipper Level 1, Chainsaw Level 1 and Certificate II in ESI Powerline Vegetation Control or have the ability to obtain.
- Experience in leading and supervising small work teams.
- Experience in the operation of woodchippers, chainsaws and stump grinders.
- Current Medium Rigid truck driver’s licence.
- Must be comfortable with using technology and apps to report daily achievements.
- This work is physical, so a good level of health and fitness is required.
Salary and Conditions
The position is classified within Band 4 of Council’s Current Enterprise Agreement ranging from $74,775 to $79,663 per annum including allowance plus statutory superannuation.
