The Opportunity

We are seeking a professional Senior Management Accountant to provide a range of high-level and specialist accounting advice and services to support the university’s finance strategy and practice.

This includes undertaking and overseeing activities such as financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, activity-based costing, transaction management, modelling, financial analysis, reporting and financial performance monitoring. This position will involve close collaboration with senior finance executives to ensure the timely and efficient completion of tasks, meeting objectives and budgetary requirements.

About You

As the successful candidate you will have:

Highly developed numeracy, analytical and conceptual skills including the ability to quickly assimilate new concepts and information and deliver innovative solutions

Superior interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build successful relationships and influence, negotiate and achieve consensus

Proven record in delivering and overseeing the full range of financial management responsibilities, including financial reporting, analysis and auditing investigative skills

Demonstrated ability to apply accounting standards and financial policies in a complex organisation, balancing control requirements with the achievement of commercial outcomes.

Strong knowledge and practical use of Excel including Pivot tables and databases, and highly developed problem solving and critical thinking skills
