Who is JCF Pty Ltd?
We are a family company established specifically to support our disabled daughter “J” to live independently in her own home in Port Macquarie. We contract a team of support workers to provide our daughter “J” with 24/7 care. “J” has an acquired brain injury and is wheelchair bound. She requires 1:1 support whilst at home and 2:1 care when accessing the community.
We are seeking a support worker to join “J's” team of carers
The right person for this position would be commissioned under a contractual agreement on a long term basis. We would prefer a mature aged person who has experience in working the clients with acquired brain injuries and/or dementia and has flexibility in working day or night shifts within a fortnightly roster.
What would your duties be?
“J” is a person who thrives on being independent. She is extremely home proud since moving into her own home. She is a very determined person who does as much as she can by herself however she can sometimes be impulsive and as such requires support and guidance from her carers to achieve her goals and at the same time stay safe.
How can you help “J”?
- Companionship such as playing games, doing craft, picnics, swimming etc.
- Assistance with her personal care
- Assistance with her domestic duties
- Assistance with health and fitness programs e.g. her walking program
- Assistance with medical needs e.g. taking her to medical appointments
- Maintaining accurate records e.g. progress notes & medication charts
- Assisting with training new staff in procedures and policies.
- Maintaining daily communication by checking email and forum notices.
What would your work hours be?
Our team provides “J” with 24 hour care, 7 days per week. We have two shifts per day. The day shift commences at 9.00 a.m. through to 7.00 p.m. and the night shift, with an inactive 8 hour sleepover, goes from 7.00 p.m. through to 9.00 a.m. th following day. Each team member works an average of 34 hours per week. Two day shifts (20 hrs) amd one night shift (14 hrs). We prefer applicants who do not have other work commitments so that they have flexibility to change shifts with other team members when leave is requested.
What are the essential requirements for this position?
- Hold an ABN
- Hold Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance
- Experience as a Disability and/or Aged Care support worker preferably with knowledge of Acquired Brain Injury and/or Dementia.
- Hold a Current First Aid Certificate
- Has a NSW drivers licence and a motor vehicle which is comprehensively insured.
- Fully vaccinated for COVID
- Have a NSW Police or NDIS clearance
Pay Rates
Our rates are above those of the Schads Award. We offer casual rates as follows:
- Week day and evening $52.50 per hour
- Saturday day and evening $65 per hour
- Sunday day and evening $75 per hour
- Public holidays day and evening $90 per hour
- Inactive sleepover $180 per 8 hours
- Transport allowance $0.99 per Km
