About us
The Grumpy Baker is an established cafe and bakery operating for over 10 years in various locations.
We are looking for a full-time CAFE MANAGER to lead the team in our Vaucluse bakery!
Close to public transport - train and bus!
If you are energetic, motivated to lead the team, great with customers and communication, able to work autonomously with a can-do attitude then please join us.
Skills & Experience
Previous hospitality experience is a must
barista experience is a must
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a smile :)

Tasks & responsibilities
ordering & keeping on top of stock/wastage
training, educating & mentoring staff
quality control
hygiene & safety
rosters
Making sure communication runs smoothly between front of house and kitchen
Great knowledge of our products / be loud and proud
Top notch customer service skills
Making Coffees
Working on the register
Presenting food/ table service
Preparing display of products
Keeping areas clean & tidy
Leading the team
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $70,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
Schedule:
Monday to Friday
Public holidays
Weekend availability
Experience:
Management: 1 year (Preferred)
Barista: 1 year (Preferred)
Hospitality: 4 years (Preferred)
About The Grumpy Baker
The Grumpy Baker was created in 2002 by Michael Cthurmer Owner-operator as a Café/Retail Bakery in Oxford Street, Darlinghurst. Finding a niche in the market for good, old fashioned bread, particularly artisan sourdough that was more “cheesy” and less of a “vinegar” starter, he set out to conquer the bread world.
The Grumpy Baker had outgrown its current premises, expanded into the wholesale market (with a repertoire of clients ranging from top restaurants, cruise ships, hotels, coffee shops and catering companies), and had moved into a commercial factory in Leichhardt and received our HACCP accreditation.
The range of breads is now sold at numerous retail outlets throughout Sydney as well as Paddington Markets every Saturday and we are committed to providing our customers with high quality products that really have been lovingly hand-crafted.
