The Roles To ensure we are best resourced to support out clients, we have opportunities in Brisbane or Brisbane North for both Financial Resilience Workers or Financial Counsellors to join the team. Both roles focus on supporting individuals experiencing financial hardship by providing early intervention, education, and access to financial resources. You will work one-on-one with clients to build financial capability, increase financial literacy, and connect them with appropriate services and supports. This role involves conducting financial conversations, providing access to no-interest and low-interest loans, delivering financial literacy education, and advocating with utility providers and other creditors on behalf of clients. Key responsibilities:
- Conduct financial conversations to assess client needs and identify underlying causes of financial stress.
- Provide support to access no-interest and low-interest loans (e.g. NILS).
- Deliver financial literacy education through one-on-one and group sessions.
- Assist clients in accessing grants, benefits, and relief programs.
- Refer clients to internal and external services including mental health, housing, and family violence support.
- Advocate with utility providers and other creditors on behalf of clients.
- Maintain accurate and timely case notes and data entry.
- Collaborate with colleagues and community partners to ensure integrated service delivery.

Whether your strengths lie in community engagement or in-depth financial casework, you are passionate about making a meaningful difference in people’s lives. You bring:
- Diploma in Community Services or equivalent experience
- Financial Counselling qualification – ideally Diploma in Financial Counselling – and eligible for registration with the Qld industry body
- Financial Literacy modules highly desirable including CHCFLE301A, CHCFLE302A, and CHCFLE303A).
- Understanding of financial wellbeing, social justice, and community development
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and advocacy skills
- Ability to manage complex conversations with empathy and professionalism
- High level of computer literacy and accurate record-keeping
- Demonstrated knowledge of the financial and credit industries and their relevant governing legislation, and the community services system
- Demonstrated understanding of case work
