The Opportunity

As the Financial Accountant you will be responsible for assisting the broader finance team with various financial, management, systems development, statistical and statutory reporting. You'll also have the opportunity to support our aged care customers & their families understand their billing and budget, enabling better access to services. This full time onsite position reports directly to the Executive Manager of Finance & IT, within our innovative Finance team, offering an excellent opportunity to ensure financial results and impacts are understood by key internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring the timely and accurate production of monthly financial information by ensuring all journals and financial transactions are processed during the month
• Preparation and analysis of the monthly financial reports and liaising with department managers
• Managing the general ledger including overseeing the monthly balance sheet
• Completion of the monthly accruals, journals, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules
• Assisting with Year-End Audit and Statutory Reporting, including liaising with external auditors
• Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register
• Preparation of BAS and FBT returns
• Supervision of Accounts Payable process
• Assisting with the budgeting and forecasting
• Ensuring adherence to Accounting standards and policies

About you

Essential:

1. Successfully hold at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role or equivalent
2. Degree qualifications and CA/CPA qualified, or studying towards.
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
4. Ability to adapt to a changing regulatory environment
5. Well-developed interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills
6. Proven customer service approach to stakeholder management
7. Ability to work independently and as a team
8. Effective time management and organisational skills to prioritise workloads, multitask and meet deadlines
9. Good understanding of finance systems & sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
10. National Criminal Check Clearance to be completed during recruitment

Desirable:

• Experience in the Aged Care/Not for Profit industry
• Experience with the Epicor system
