A well known Government department in Far North Queensland in the beautiful coastal Cook Town, are actively seeking an experienced WHS Manager to join their team!

This position provides leadership & collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure the strategic direction of work health and safety is achieved! As a WHS Manager you will report directly to the Executive Manager People and Performance.

As a WHS Manager, you will:

• Provide leadership to the WHS team
• Work collaboratively with the organisation to problem, develop and foster a culture which creates a work ensure a healthy and safe environment
• Develop, implement, manage and review the WHS management system including standards, policies and procedures
• Ensure the rigorous health and safety audits, inspections and investigations are conducted
• identify, initiate, manage and coordinate the delivery of specialist WHS projects & programs

Candidate Requirements:

• Bachelor degree or higher qualification in health & safety
• Hold a construction white card
• Minimum 5 years relevant practical experience as a WHS manager
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
• Current Queensland Drivers License
• Solid work ethic, reliable and high attention to detail
