Franklin Smith Recruitment is representing a trusted and long-standing client—a leading builder/developer based in Brisbane—now seeking an experienced WHSO / Site Safety Oficer to take ownership of safety on a 26-storey, $150M high-rise residential project in Brisbane’s inner suburbs.

About the Role: As the dedicated Site Safety Manager, you’ll lead all WHS compliance on-site and work closely with the site and project teams. You’ll play a hands-on, visible role—partnering with subcontractors, trades, and internal staff to maintain a safe, proactive, and supportive work environment.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Implement and manage all WHS policies, procedures, and site compliance
  
  
• Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and regular safety audits
  
  
• Identify and manage hazards and incidents proactively
  
  
• Champion a culture of safety across all levels of the site
  
  
• Work closely with trades and subcontractors to ensure real-time support and guidance
  
  

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience as a WHSO or Site Safety Manager on multi-residential high-rise projects
  
  
• In-depth knowledge of WHS legislation, risk assessment, and site safety systems
  
  
• Autonomous and proactive mindset with a strong presence on-site
  
  
• Team player who is adaptable, flexible, and works well with site teams
  
  
• Comfortable engaging directly with trades and subbies, not just enforcing but supporting safety outcomes
  
  
• Relevant WHS qualifications and certifications required
