Happy Haven OSHC is offering an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and proactive Part-Time Human Resources Assistant!
Happy Haven OSHC is a South Australian-owned and operated company managing 48 OSHC services across the state. We are an Approved Provider with an expert team capable of running outstanding OSHC programs on school sites.
In the part-time role of Human Resources Assistant, you will be a key player in our head office team, helping us achieve our HR goals. You will support the HR strategy by handling administrative tasks, boosting employee engagement, and keeping HR operations running smoothly. Prior experience in HR administration is highly advantageous for this role. This position is ideal for someone eager to learn, apply best practices, and participate in exciting projects that align with our goals. Immediate availability is a plus.
What is the role about?
Perform data entry and maintain accurate employee records, ensuring strict confidentiality of staff documents
Assist in the recruitment process by screening candidates, including conducting initial phone screenings where required
Assist in the onboarding process for new hires, including collaborating with other business units for asset allocation, payroll setup, and company induction
Support the development and maintenance of HR policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and compliance
Support the performance evaluation process by following up with managers and employees to ensure the timely completion of evaluations and Performance Improvement Plans
Contribute to fostering a positive workplace culture by assisting to capture and review data to inform and enhance employee engagement and satisfaction
Support positive employee relations by attending meetings related to conflict resolution and Industrial and Employee Relations matters as needed and take minutes to document discussions and action items
Contribute to key initiatives related to talent retention by assisting in identifying factors contributing to employee attrition and supporting employee welfare checks
Support the employee offboarding process
Ensure compliance with labour laws, regulations and company policies by staying updated on legislative changes
Assist with generating HR reports and ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of data to support decision-making
Respond to HR-related enquiries in a timely and professional manner
Actively seek improvement opportunities and support team members as directed by the management team
What we need in you?
Proficiency in computer software packages and keyboard skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities effectively
Attention to detail and adherence to administrative procedures
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Understanding of employment law and best practices in HR is preferred
Previous HR experience or internship (desirable)
Qualification in HR, Psychology, Business or other related field (desirable)
Hold or willing to obtain a valid Working with Children Check (required)
Hold or be willing to obtain Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect (RHHAN-EC) certificate (required)
