Our client is a high functioning, well-funded builder with a great general reputation and focus on paying bills and subcontractors first within the construction industry, specialising in the construction of a diverse portfolio of large lot Multi Unit Townhouses, Apartments, Commercial, and Retail Projects. With a focus on growth and structured systems with ISO 45001/ ISO 14001 & ISO 9001, our client is seeking a Contract Administrator to join the Project team for an upcoming <50 Townhouses on a large single basement with a 2 year program. As This Contract Administration position is office based in the Southeast of Melbourne, they’re looking for an experienced and proactive Contract Administrator to form part of an experienced team with a view to work very close with a highly experienced Project Manager, to learn, grow and move into a Project Management as your next step. Although this is a Contract Administration position, they are looking for someone who can help out and is keen to learn and take project management responsibilities on in-time. Experience with Medium Density builds is essential to be successful in this role.

We welcome both specialists in Large Lot Multi Unit/Townhouse Construction with basements and those with experience in the field on large building construction projects who find other parts of our client’s business of interest. After finishing this job you can move onto the next challenge, this may be on large lot townhouses again, or a commercial project or even an apartment build. They are team focused, wont hang you out to dry if you make mistakes, with this client it’s about how you manage issues, communicate and ask question if you need answers, regulate and resolve. This workplace really do capture a friendly and productive workplace. Allowing a smooth build for the trades is important to our client. They currently run Jobpac, Procore & 1breadcrum however if you have experience with similar project software. The GM operates as a CM also and is a great leader who fosters an enjoyable environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and manage subcontracts and supplier agreements
- Monitor project budgets and assist with cost forecasting
- Manage progress claims, variations, and contract correspondence
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and construction legislation
- Liaise with stakeholders including clients, consultants, and subcontractors
- Provide administrative support throughout project lifecycles
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Contract Administrator in the construction industry
- Strong understanding of Australian building contracts
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Jobpac, Procore or alike)
- A degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field preferred
