- Casual position
- Pay Rates: $58.11 - $69.18 per hour (inc. 25% casual loading) + Super + qualification allowance (if applicable)
- Location: Realm Ringwood and vaccination venues in Maroondah
Maroondah City Council has an opportunity for experienced and qualified Immunisation Nurse to join our Community Health Team. Maroondah’s immunisation service prides itself on being accessible and providing excellent service to support the health of our community.
The successful candidates will have:
- Nurse Immuniser Accreditation from the Chief Health Officer recognised Nurse Immuniser Program of Study or Immuniser Program of Study (providing the education provider offers the program to Registered Nurses). Registered in Division 1 of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia register and registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate including anaphylaxis component (renewed annually) and Immunisation Emergency Medical Response (IEMR) training.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering immunisation services I.e. Community based programs in local government, hospitals and medical clinic settings.
- High level knowledge of the National Health and Medical Research Council (NH&MRC) Immunisation guidelines - The Australian Immunisation Handbook and DH Guidelines for Immunisation Practice in Local Government, including ability to determine suitability of vaccination for client and determine appropriate immunisation catch up schedules for clients who are behind schedule.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a high functioning team with the aptitude to support an inclusive and positive team culture
- Demonstrated commitment to a high level of customer service.
- Demonstrated experience in administering emergency responses appropriately when required.
Maroondah City Council offers public, school, workplace and some opportunistic immunisation services that are convenient to clients and as such there is a component of work outside normal business hours which includes evenings.
