Project Engineer

Workfast is looking for a Project Engineer to join a major project in Townsville, Queensland.

● $180k salary + super + fully maintained vehicle
● 12-month contract on major Defence infrastructure project
● Monday–Friday role

We are seeking a driven and experienced Project Engineer to join a key defence infrastructure project at the RAAF base in Townsville. The ideal candidate will have a background in construction or civil engineering, strong site management experience, and the ability to work within a structured environment.

● Stable Monday to Friday schedule

What you need:

● Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Construction Engineering
● Minimum 5 years’ experience in site-based or project engineering roles
● Previous experience on Defence or large-scale infrastructure projects desirable
● Current Australian driver’s licence
● Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

What you will be doing:

● Managing on-site construction and engineering activities
● Coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and Defence representatives
● Ensuring project timelines, quality, and compliance targets are met
● Conducting site inspections and managing technical standards
● Overseeing safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance
● Maintaining clear project documentation and progress reports
