About Abby
Abby is a fast-growing health tech startup that makes it easier for Australians to book and attend GP appointments online. We’re rethinking the end-to-end patient experience, from smart symptom checks to instant telehealth and follow-up care.

Thousands of patients already use Abby. We’re now looking for our first engineering hire to join the founding team and help shape the next phase of the product. You’ll work closely with our lead engineer (and co-founder) to build and scale the product.

The Role
We’re looking for a full-stack engineer who’s confident across the stack but especially loves frontend (ReactJS). You’ll be part of the design process, collaboratively helping our product team turn ideas into polished, working features. You should be independent, proactive, and excited to help shape a product that makes a real difference.

What you do

Work across the stack to build, ship, and improve core product features

Help ideate solutions to problems and build them into polished, working features

Collaborate closely with our lead engineer, designer, and clinical team to move fast and learn faster

Improve the usability, reliability, and performance of our product

Contribute to design and product discussions — we value thoughtful input, not just tickets getting closed

What we’re looking for

3–5 years of professional full-stack engineering experience in fast-paced teams

Comfortable working across both frontend and backend

Strong React skills and attention to UI/UX details.

Able to work closely with our designer to build pixel-perfect functional designs.

You move quickly, work independently, and take ownership of your work

Comfortable with an evolving product and figuring things out as you go; an iterative developing environment that responds to user feedback.

Based in Sydney and happy to collaborate from the office 5 days/week (CBD)

Nice to have

Experience in a startup or early-stage environment

Familiarity with AWS, Postgres, or Node.js (not required)

Interest in healthtech, or building tools that help people
