The Position:

This is a role which comes with significant autonomy, and the platform for you to genuinely influence the accounting function of the business. With the departing accounting working out their notice, this opening offers a rare chance to step into a critical role within a business who are a true specialist in their field.

You’ll take full ownership of the function across multiple entities, ensuring cohesion across transactional accounting, monthly reporting, tax, operations, budgeting/forecasting, and business partnering with a variety of internal/external stakeholders.

Our client is open to accountants of several backgrounds including:

Public practice accounting (experience with commercial property / developer clients preferred)

Property accounting background (working for a developer or property management business)

Accountants with experience across multiple entities (up to 20 in this role)

A Snapshot of Your Role:

Take full ownership of the accounting function across multiple entities (20+) and ledgers

Oversee the Accounts Payable/Receivable function for the group

Month end reporting (financial and management)

Cash flow forecasting (six (6) monthly)

Presenting monthly reporting results to the board for review & commentary

End to end payroll (6 employees)

Property accounting duties (templates established for those without knowledge)

Manage intercompany loans and transactions

ATO liaison to ensure lodgment deadlines are met

Prepare journals, month-end reconciliations and financial reporting packs

Liaison with external tax accountants for end of year reporting & tax planning

A Little Bit About You:

CA/CPA qualified or nearing completion (preferred)

Experience using MYOB

Understanding of the property development sector & property relevant accounting duties (preferred)

Confident in a stand alone role with significant autonomy

Natural ability to build relationships, business partner, and go beyond the numbers

Strong accounting standards knowledge

Desire for a long term role and a will to drive positive improvements where possible
