About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head Barista to deliver high-quality coffee and exceptional customer service across our vibrant campuses. In this hands-on role, you'll take the lead in crafting beverages to exacting standards while helping maintain a welcoming, safe, and well-organised café environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and manage transactions efficiently
- Prepare espresso-based and specialty beverages to a consistently high standard
- Operate and maintain coffee equipment, ensuring safety and hygiene
- Monitor and maintain stock levels of coffee and related supplies
- Collaborate with team members to manage workflow and service during peak periods
- Support inventory control and participate in promotional activities
- Uphold a professional and positive team culture aligned with Melbourne Polytechnic's values
Skills and Experience Required
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a barista
- A strong passion for coffee, tea, and customer service
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced setting
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Flexibility to work across campuses and varied shifts
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift items up to 25kg
