The Change and Training Manager – Data Analytics is responsible for driving successful adoption of data analytics tools, systems, and practices across Defence. This role leads change management efforts for data transformation initiatives and designs targeted training programs to build data literacy and user competency as well as support delivery of key Defence sponsored analytical decision making digital tools. Acting as a bridge between technical teams, users and Defence stakeholders, the role ensures that solutions are understood, embraced, and effectively utilised. The ideal candidate combines expertise in organisational change / training with a solid understanding of data analytics environments and tools, ensuring people and processes are aligned for a data-driven culture.
Statement of Duties:
Change Management:
Develop and execute change management strategies to support data and analytics transformation initiatives. Identify change impacts on Defence units, processes, and stakeholders; develop mitigation plans. Act as a liaison between project teams and Defence organisational units to ensure buy-in and successful adoption. Develop stakeholder engagement plans and develop / lead communication strategies to foster understanding and alignment. Collaborate with analytics, IT, and stakeholders to ensure seamless implementation of new tools, platforms, or workflows.
Training Development & Delivery:
Design and deliver tailored training programs for all personnel. Ensure that users gain the skills needed to understand and utilise dashboards, bespoke applications, self-service tools, and advanced analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI). Evaluate training effectiveness and iterate to meet learning needs. Promote a culture of data literacy and continuous learning across Defence. Work with other stakeholders in other Groups and Services as a process of collaboration, efficiency and knowledge sharing.
Monitoring & Reporting:
Track change adoption, usage, and user proficiency across key initiatives. Generate insights and reports on training effectiveness and change readiness. Provide feedback to leadership and analytics teams to improve implementation outcomes.
Business Analysis
Where required for project success, provide core business analysis and delivery support to ICT analytical project where required to meet project timelines, resolve issues or risk reduction etc.
Personal Qualities & Experience:
Mandatory:
- Advanced skills in training package design and delivery
- Competence and experience in change management, preferably in a Defence context.
Desirable:
- Understanding of Defence transformation initiatives
- Exposure to Defence operations ICT concepts
- Experience with data analytics, including legacy architecture such as data warehousing, data lakehouses and AI
- Experience with ICT business analysis.
