About the role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Engineering Geologist or Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing team at Geotechnology WA in Perth. This full-time role will see you playing a crucial part in the development and delivery of essential geotechnical and engineering geological consultancy services to our valued clients across a range of infrastructure and mining projects. Projects you will be involved in apply innovative and industry leading input to solve complex geotechnical conditions.

What you'll be doing

Developing, managing and conducting geotechnical investigations, including field work, sampling, and management of sub-contractors

Analysing and interpreting geotechnical and geological data to provide recommendations for design and construction

Using commercial and in-house software to assess the results of the geotechnical investigation and provide robust solutions for client projects

Preparing detailed geotechnical reports (factual and interpretive), presentations, and design recommendations

Liaising with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of projects

Providing technical advice and support throughout the lifecycle of projects

Being mentored and supported by an experienced and collaborative team of geotechnical engineers and engineering geologists

Undertaking all works in a safe and consistent manner

What we're looking for

Tertiary qualifications in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology

3 to 8 years of experience in a similar geotechnical or engineering geology role - those with both consulting and client side experience are encouraged to apply

Demonstrated expertise in conducting geotechnical investigations, developing geotechnical models and assigning parameters, analysing data, use of geotechnical software (finite element analysis, slope stability analysis, settlement analysis and bearing capacity assessments) and providing technical recommendations

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients and colleagues

Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively within a team or on your own

A desire for continuous improvement

Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality standards

A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites, both domestic and international, as required

Existing right to work in Australia is essential
