A highly regarded independent primary school in Western Sydney is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced PDHPE and Sport Coordinator to join their leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a key role shaping student wellbeing, sport, and physical development in a dynamic and values-based school community.
About the Role:
The PDHPE and Sport Coordinator will oversee the planning, delivery, and evaluation of high-quality Personal Development, Health, and Physical Education (PDHPE) programs, while coordinating a whole-school sport program. You will work closely with the Principal and Leadership Team to ensure programs reflect the school's Christian ethos and foster holistic student growth.
This is a full-time position with leadership responsibilities across curriculum, sport, and wellbeing, starting in Term 4.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of engaging and differentiated PDHPE programs aligned with NESA outcomes.
- Coordinate all school sport activities, including carnivals, weekly sport, and representative pathways.
- Promote student wellbeing, resilience, and healthy lifestyle choices through both structured programs and informal initiatives.
- Ensure student safety and inclusion across all physical activities, adhering to WHS and child protection standards.
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate health and wellbeing themes into daily learning.
- Build positive relationships with parents, community partners, and external sporting bodies.
- Manage budgets, equipment, event logistics, risk assessments, and compliance.
- Mentor colleagues, promote innovative teaching practices, and engage in ongoing professional learning.
Key Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in PDHPE or Primary education.
- A valid NESA accreditation.
- Strong experience in teaching PDHPE, ideally with leadership or coordination experience.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and implement inclusive, high-quality sport and physical education programs.
- Knowledge of representative sport pathways and experience liaising with sporting associations.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to upholding the school's Christian values and fostering an inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment.
- Valid Working with Children Check (for employment purposes)
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references
