About the team
Located in the Environment, Heritage and Resilience Department, the Waste and Resource Recovery Branch is responsible for planning, operating and improving waste and resource recovery services around the city. The Waste and Resource Recovery Service Planning team is responsible for new services, trials and improvements to ensure that our services are financially and sustainably managed.
About your new role
An opportunity exists within the Waste and Resource Recovery Service Planning team to support some of our significant projects and increase resource recovery across the Gold Coast. Working with the Project Manager you will support service change reviews and the implementation of new services.
Responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):
Support industry projects through the project lifecycle and gateway process.
Ensure you’re across relevant legislation, regulations, policies and processes that impact new or current services.
Research and prepare a range of high-quality reports, presentations and correspondence, utilise investigative and critical analysis skills and make clear recommendations.
Ensuring customers are aware of new services and how City services properly.
Liaising with internal and external areas to ensure value-for-money services for our customers.
Investigating, analysing and problem-solving recycling and waste diversion issues to arrive at fit-for-purpose solutions.
Providing support to other members of the team where your projects have shared elements.
We're looking for people who have:
You hold a Bachelor of Project Management, Bachelor of Business or a Bachelor of Environmental Management or Equivalent Knowledge
You have worked for a government or not-for-profit organisation before and navigate bureaucracy well
Good verbal and written communication skills
Strong system and technical knowledge
Ability to work across multiple systems and interpret information from those for various stakeholders
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
