About This Opportunity

The University of Queensland is seeking a highly motivated Senior Project Officer to play a pivotal role in the delivery of strategic, high-impact projects across the institution. This position operates within a collaborative, fast-paced team environment and provides key support throughout the entire project lifecycle-from planning through to evaluation. Working closely with stakeholders across the university, the Senior Project Officer ensures the delivery of successful project outcomes by coordinating project administration, supporting governance frameworks, and facilitating communication and engagement activities.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate all phases of the project delivery cycle-including planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation-ensuring alignment with project methodologies.
  • Provide high-level project and administrative support, including the preparation of reports, project plans, meeting agendas, and post-project documentation.
  • Support stakeholder engagement and communications by facilitating meetings, preparing updates, and ensuring transparent and timely information-sharing.
  • Assist with budget coordination and financial tracking, ensuring projects remain within scope and financial parameters.

About You

Essential

  • Hold a bachelor's degree with relevant experience or equivalent experience and/or equivalent education/training
  • Demonstrated experience in providing project coordination and/or administrative support
  • A developing understanding of project management methodologies and frameworks
  • Excellent time management skills, including the ability to balance competing priorities within tight timeframes
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders to provide updates regarding project status and implementation issues
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills with a demonstrated capacity to customise content to meet the needs of different stakeholders.
  • Experience coordinating diverse stakeholder engagements

Desirable

  • Experience using Microsoft Office and Atlassian suites would be advantageous, or a proven ability to quickly adapt to new project management software
  • Subject matter expertise in the area of Higher Education
