About the role
We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic Programs and Projects Assistant. The role is responsible for all duties on the customer service desk, responding to customer enquiries and requests, supporting library visitors to use our facilities, and contributing to library programs.
You can also expect to:
Work on rostered desk shifts at all libraries in the Bayside network to deliver library services and responding to customer enquiries and requests.
Support customers to use facilities including public PCs and printers and assist with study room bookings.
Return, shelve, and tidy library resources and other general administrative duties.
Promote library (and Council) services and initiatives to library visitors.
Work with the Projects and Programs Librarian to assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of library programs, including Children’s and Youth programs, Multicultural programs, Home Library Service, and other outreach initiatives and adult programs, including technology training, to meet community needs and expectations.
Monitor customer behaviour and usage patterns, including the collection of statistics, and contribute ideas, observations, and insights to assist with continuous improvement and development of innovative and relevant library services and programs.
Provide support to other team members, while working on rostered desk shifts across the library network.
Promote the positive and collaborative culture and values of the organisation through open, fair, and transparent decision making and ethical, professional behaviour.
About you
We are looking for a someone who has:
Demonstrated understanding of and interest in providing exceptional customer service within a busy and dynamic environment, ideally in a within a Library setting
Knowledge and experience in using IT devices and applications including but not limited to PCs, tablets, printers, and Microsoft application suite.
A current Working with Children Check Number.
Current Driver’s Licence Class C and/or willingness to travel between Bayside Library locations.
Current First Aid certificate relevant to the role or willingness to obtain.
Tertiary Qualifications in the Library and Information Services or equivalent will be highly regarded
