About the role:
The Men’s Behaviour Change Program Lead Facilitator is an ongoing position, 1.0 FTE, 38 hours per week. This position is a key specialist role within the Response and Recovery team, it facilitates and leads individual and group work with men who use violence towards their families.
This role supports the positive outcomes of the Men’s Behaviour Change (MBC) group by:
- Delivering group programs to men who use violence towards family members as a Principal Facilitator.
- Providing secondary consultation, community education, training and mentoring to practice workers, to support skill enhancement and positive client outcomes.
- Performing intake and response functions, comprehensive risk assessments, and the case coordination with family safety contact workers in the men’s programs.
- Providing individual treatment readiness counselling when needed and exit interviews with men when they complete the program.
- Coordinating, continually developing, and enhancing the MBC program.
To be considered for this position you will have:
- A bachelor’s degree in social work or equivalent and a Graduate Diploma/Certificate in Men’s Family Violence (Client Assessment and Case Management).
- A minimum of 100 hours of experience delivering MBC group sessions.
- A knowledge and understanding of family violence within a gendered, feminist structure.
- Demonstrated experience in the coordination and co-facilitation of MBC group sessions.
- Extensive knowledge of family violence risk assessment and management frameworks.
- Counselling skills and experience in the provision of casework/counselling services.
