We’re looking for a Project Manager to join the YOKAI-Healing our spirit team to assist us in supporting our community in regard to the Stolen Generations scheme announced by the State Government on the 27/05/2025. YOKAI will advocate & work alongside Government to ensure that the scheme & rollout is culturally safe, understood & accessible for all Stolen People.

The Project Manager position supports Yokai’s mission by working with the Yokai Healing our Spirit team on:

1. Manage all aspects of scheme/project from YOKAI perspective.

2. Lead consultation with Stolen generations survivors & descendants around the scheme.

3. Manage & provide leadership to a small project team.

4. Engage & inform community on the scheme.

5. Amplify the voice & stories of Stolen generations survivors & their families on the outcome of the scheme

6. Identify healing programs to be delivered as part of the scheme.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Project Plan & manage meetings with Government, Stolen Generations survivors & stakeholders

· Establish & manage survivor reparations advisory committee.

· Develop detailed consultation timeline.

· Develop detail communication plan.

· Provides guidance to staff on policies, protocols and strategies.

· Build & maintain relationships with Government & stakeholders.

· Capture data & information for reporting purposes.

· Provide detailed & timely reports to the CEO

· Other duties as assigned by CEO.

Essential

1) Is Aboriginal &/or Torres Strait Islander or has significant working history of working with Aboriginal community & organisations

2) Awareness of and can work to BTHWA’s mission of truth justice and healing as well as WASGAC’s strategic objectives.

3) Has knowledge and experience of the Stolen Generations.

4) Demonstrated experience as a manager, leader & motivator.

5) Well-developed verbal and written communication skills. including the ability to produce clear and concise external communications.

6) Good conceptual, research, analytical and problem-solving skills.

7) Well-developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.

8) Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and prioritise work.

Desirable Criteria

1) Formal Qualification in leadership & or management

2) Formal Qualification in project management.
