About the opportunity

The Wide Bay Field Engagement Lead, Retail Operations will support the Market Lead, Retail Operations to drive transformational change across the Retail Network by implementing strategies and initiatives across a defined network of Post Office Outlets (across all formats). It will create a marketplace for all Australians by embedding a “One Team” network of Postal Outlets which provide seamless and meaningful customer experiences.

The purpose of this position is to provide high level operational, people and administrative support to the Senior Manager, Retail Operations to manage a defined catchment of Retail Outlets including Corporate Post Offices, Licensed Post Offices, Business Hubs/Centres and other new formats. This position works with Operators, Managers and team members across all formats to identify opportunities to operate efficiently, lead effectively and drive revenue growth and profitability.

The role will be $123,565 plus12% Super.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Coaching and supporting Managers and Operators across the Retail Network to efficiently operate their outlets including maximising sales opportunities, promoting participation in national promotional campaigns, improve trading, profit performance and operational efficiency
  • Co-ordinating the delivery of training of Retail principles and operational procedures utilising the Retail Academy and online learning tools. Ensure that all compliance training is completed in a timely manner, recorded in LMS, and that all systems are updated with accurate workforce data
  • Coaching and supporting Managers and Operators to acquire, retain and grow existing and new revenue streams; effectively maintain the growth of a local customer base and utilise a Salesforce portfolio to win, retain and grow SME (small and medium enterprise) customers locally
  • Driving product and category merchandising solutions, take up of merchandising offers and implement local area marketing to drive foot traffic to Australia Post’s Merchandise offer
  • Building market share within the region using levers such as customer relationships, competitor analysis, stock and inventory control, customer service and marketing
  • Understanding sales reports to assist in the development of sales activities, plans and to provide support to Managers and Operators
  • Working collaboratively across the enterprise with internal and external business partners to assist the operation and business growth of outlets across the network

  • Proven ability in developing business plans including setting and achieving financial, service, sales and productivity targets and objectives
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to establish collaborative working relationship with Managers, Operators, team members, cross functional teams and external customers, to anticipate needs and implement effective ways to monitor & evaluate concerns, issues and satisfaction
  • The disclosure/assignment and default/dispute/issue resolution processes and associated systems
  • The Operator assessment and selection process and associated systems
  • Assessment of Operator payment entitlements
  • Travel is a significant part of the role, a suitable vehicle is provided, a full driver’s licence with no restrictions is required
