Our Organisation

The Benevolent Society’s vision is to build a just society where all Australians can live their best life. For more than 200 years we have supported people at the margins of society: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people; children, young people, and their families; older people; carers and people with disability. We are an independent, non-religious service provider which supports people to live life their way.

As part of The Benevolent Society's vision, we are strongly committed to reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of Australia. We remain steadfast in our commitment to promoting the economic, political, and social inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

About the role

Our Resilient Families program delivers targeted, voluntary child protection services to families with children who are at high risk of entering or escalating within the statutory child protection system. The program aims to reduce risks and strengthen families to reduce the number of children entering Out of Home Care.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Social Worker, Psychologist, Case Worker or Case Manager to become a Senior Case Manager within our Family Preservation Program. You will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team of Social Workers, Case Managers and Psychologists with a supportive Management and Practice Leadership Unit to support you.

Duties

Undertake an initial assessment of family strengths and needs.

Develop case plans that build on the family’s resilience.

Support Child and Family Practitioners in performing their role in this program; assisting them in preparation for visits and delivery of the service, especially with the management of more complex cases, including support at visits, meetings, and to resolve more challenging situations.

Collaborate with the other Senior Child & Family Practitioners to deliver monthly coaching to the entire Child and Family Practitioners team in the Central Sydney Family Preservation Program.

Support the senior team with program and process development, review, and implementation.
