About South Burnett CTC Inc

South Burnett CTC Inc is a not-for-profit community organisation committed to providing support to disadvantaged individuals of all backgrounds and ages. Our services encompass a wide range of areas, including Foster Care, Youth & Family Services, Domestic Violence Services, and Disability Services, among others. We operate throughout the South Burnett area, with teams based in Kingaroy, Wondai, Nanango, and Murgon.

Position Overview

The Youth Worker will play a vital role in delivering practical vocational and non-vocational training to help young individuals achieve their personal and professional goals. This position requires a commitment to fostering self-esteem and confidence in clients to prepare them for future employment opportunities.

Your responsibilities will include assisting with the completion of a Certificate II qualification, promoting personal development and teamwork, and providing referrals to support services. You will also facilitate job preparation workshops, resume writing sessions, and interview skills training, ensuring that each client has access to information about local job opportunities and potential pathways to employment, traineeships, and apprenticeships.

The role is part-time or casual (approximately 3 days per week) with a maximum term contract until December 19, 2025, providing flexibility in hours worked to meet program needs.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking candidates who are passionate about working with young people and possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Certificate or Diploma in Youth Work or a related field (desirable).
  • Ability to work towards a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Experience in community services, youth work, or education.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to engage clients effectively.
  • Exceptional time management skills and the capability to develop individualised training plans.
  • Current Queensland Open Driver’s Licence and willingness to obtain First Aid, CPR, and Bronze Medallion Certificates.
  • Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate cultural sensitivity, a calm demeanour, and the ability to respond effectively to the diverse needs of all stakeholders.

Salary & Benefits

This position offers a competitive rate of a level 3.1 under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHCADS), along with salary packaging options.

If you are ready to make a difference in the lives of young people and contribute to their success, we invite you to apply for this rewarding opportunity!
