Orange Health Care is a registered health care provider in Queensland delivering high-quality, person-centred support across NDIS, youth care, and veterans’ services. We focus on empowering clients through care, connection, and community. Our team supports children and young people in residential placements and individuals with complex needs in disability settings.
We are currently seeking Support Workers and Residential Youth Workers to join our dedicated team in Townsville.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver person-centred care in residential settings or disability homes
Implement care plans, safety plans, and behaviour support strategies
Provide emotional and practical support in day-to-day activities
Assist with domestic tasks: cleaning, cooking, shopping, and general home duties
Participate in team debriefs, case meetings, and ongoing training
Maintain clear, timely documentation – including shift notes, incident reports, and WHS forms
Support participants to build life skills, independence, and positive routines
Respond calmly to incidents using trauma-informed de-escalation techniques
Manage petty cash, receipts, and participant records during shifts
Essential Requirements
Minimum Qualification: Certificate III in Disability, Child, Youth & Family Intervention, Community Services (actively studying or willing to study.)
Any experience in youth work, disability care, or residential settings.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust and rapport with participants
Available to work across rotating rosters, including weekends, public holidays, and sleepover shifts
Licences& Clearances
Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card)
Current First Aid & CPR
Australian Driver’s Licence
Comprehensive car insurance for work-related travel
Recent National Police Check (within 3 months)
Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module and Hope & Healing Framework (or willingness to complete)
