The work spans Development Applications, Reviews of Environmental Factors, State Significant Development Applications, master planning, and Planning Proposals. Our mission is to uphold and advance the town planning principles that have contributed to Sydney’s success. We collaborate closely with development teams across NSW to achieve this vision.

THE ROLE

Due to recent growth we are looking to add a senior town planner to the team, full time role located in Burwood.

DUTIES

• Preparation of due diligence advice to clients;
• Preparation of town planning reports including Statements of Environmental Effects, Environmental Impact Statements and Planning Proposals;
• Preparation of town planning Development Application assessment reports;
• Lodgement of Development Applications and liaison with Council staff;
• Working alongside other professionals on a wide range of multi-disciplinary projects with the aim of delivering projects working within deadlines and budget.
• Interpret NSW planning controls including statutory and non statutory controls.
• Interpret architectural plans.
• Liaise directly with clients, specialist consultants and Council/DPHI staff.
• Draft a variety of town planning reports including Planning Proposals, SEEs, EISs, REFs, CDC reports, 4.6’s, RFIs,Pre-DA reports, DRP reports and the like.
• Liaise directly with community stakeholders for the purpose of community consultation.
• Experience with the NSW Planning Portal, Espatial Viewer, Major Projects portal and the like.
• Uphold the independent values of NSW town planning.
• Be attuned to new town planning related business opportunities.
• Represent the company at various industry and community functions.

ABOUT YOU

• 4+ years experience in a similar role
• Bachelors degree in Town Planning or similar
• A current or emerging understanding of NSW statutory planning legislation.
• Ability to review and comment on information which informs town planning reports such as architectural plans, traffic reports, ecological assessments, heritage reports and the like.
• Experience or emerging experience with drafting town planning reports such as SEEs, EISs, Planning Proposals, CDC assessments and the like.
• Experience or emerging experience with communicating via phone and emails with external stakeholders.
• Drivers license to undertake site inspections.
