In this role, you'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop, test, and refine our diagnostic devices. You’ll be expected to contribute to hardware and firmware development, debugging, and system optimisation, particularly in a product development and customer feedback-driven setting.
Responsibilities and duties
Key Responsibilities
Design, review, and optimise schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer.
Develop and maintain firmware for embedded microcontroller systems in C/C++, including real-time sensor data acquisition, processing, and control logic.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and calibrate sensors used in diagnostic devices.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues identified during prototyping, internal QA, or field use.
Perform board bring-up, functional validation, and end-to-end system testing.
Interface embedded firmware with host systems or mobile platforms using standard communication protocols (e.g., UART, I²C, SPI, USB).
Support prototype development and iteration based on customer feedback and performance metrics.
Create and maintain detailed documentation for firmware architecture, version control, and technical support.
Participate in design reviews and contribute to risk mitigation, manufacturability, and compliance considerations.
Maintain clear technical documentation for internal reference, certification processes, and manufacturing handover.
Contribute to continuous product improvement and validation workflows.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Master’s or Ph.D. (completed or nearing completion) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field.
Hands-on experience in embedded firmware development, particularly for sensor-based or diagnostic systems.
Proficient in C/C++, with strong skills in debugging and real-time control.
Proven ability to design, simulate, and test analog/digital PCBs.
Familiar with lab instrumentation and testing tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators).
Experience in embedded system integration including low-power design and mixed-signal troubleshooting.
Preferred Skills
Experience with biosensors or electrochemical sensing platforms.
Familiarity with Bluetooth, BLE, or other wireless protocols is a plus.
Experience with solar cells charging technologies.
Knowledge of scripting tools for test automation.
Prior exposure to product development in medtech, diagnostics, or wearable technology environments.
