About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Gateway Life's gym facility, ensuring high-quality customer service and efficient staff coordination. This role involves supervising front desk operations, managing staff schedules, ensuring service excellence and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all members.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Oversee the daily activities and general operations of the gym including staff rostering, employee supervision and customer service.

Ensure achievement of all gym KPI's relating to membership conversion, retention, satisfaction and revenue.

Act as the main point of contact for customer enquiries, complaints and feedback.

Provide guidance and training to employees to enhance performance and service standards.

Ensuring employees comply with organisational policies and procedures.

Organise and promote gym programs and community initiatives.

About you

Certificate IV in Fitness or equivalent and current AUSactive membership.

Proven experience in gym or fitness facility management with strong leadership and team coordination skills.

Ability to supervise, train and roster staff effectively.

Great communication and and customer service skills and a commitment to providing quality services and care to older people, people with chronic illness or injury and people with a disability.

A gift for working collaboratively with a team and confident working independently.

A working knowledge of gym equipment.

Ability to implement and follow policies, procedures and quality control process and demonstrated understanding of and commitment to work, health and safety requirements.

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.

The successful applicant will need (or be willing to obtain):

Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.

Working with Children Check.

NDIS Screening Check.

Desirable

Experience with gym management software.

Experience working in an Aged Care Environment and NDIS,

Group exercise leadership experience in Special Populations,

Experience in risk management processes and monitoring compliance with health and safety requirements within a fitness environment,

Gateway Life is an innovative health and fitness centre, combining a multidisciplinary allied health clinic with a state-of-the-art gym specially designed for over 50s and those with chronic health issues.

Our allied health clinic has 10 consulting rooms and currently offers physiotherapy, occupational therapy, exercise physiology and dietetics. Our gym is the only one of its kind in the Illawarra – offering Technogym Biocircuit, the next generation of adaptive strength training.

The centre also has a café, providing healthy and nutritious food and a place to connect.
