We are currently seeking an experienced Accountant to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, high-growth environment and brings strong technical accounting and corporate services expertise, a problem-solving mindset, and a keen eye for detail. You will play a key role in supporting apt.’s mission to revolutionise Australia's living sector.
You will be responsible for:
Financial Reporting & Compliance: Maintain accurate monthly accounting records and reconciliations, conduct periodic analysis of financial information, and ensure timely and accurate internal and external reporting. You will also oversee compliance with all relevant tax obligations.
Business Insight & Operational Excellence: Develop a detailed understanding of the business's financial performance and position, maintain high standards of operational efficiency and documentation, and ensure accounting systems and related platforms are fit-for-purpose and effectively utilised.
Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key external consultants, including trustees, fund administrators, auditors, and tax advisers. You will also support internal teams with financial insight and guidance.
Process Improvement & Strategic Support: Continuously improve financial processes, systems, and working papers as the business evolves. You’ll play a key role in supporting business planning, budgeting, and forecasting, as well as providing general support across insurance, systems, governance, and ad hoc tasks.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other apt. business units—including Operations, Investment, and Development—to provide financial and general support that enables better business outcomes.
Candidates are required to have the following:
Experience:
Minimum 5 years’ experience working in an accounting or business services role.
Previous experience working within the property, real estate, or infrastructure sectors is desirable.
Education:
A tertiary qualification in finance, commerce, business or a related discipline and/or CA/CPA qualified.
Skills/Knowledge:
High level accuracy and attention to detail regarding all written documentation and presentations, including proofreading capabilities
Strong organisational skills and ability to multi-task, prioritise conflicting deadlines, and remain calm under pressure
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Confident and strong computer literacy and proficiency with Excel and use of financial software.
