About the Role
The primary role of a TAFE SA Lecturer is to provide a quality educational service of training, assessment, and guidance to students in accordance with relevant training package objectives.
TAFE SA is seeking an experienced, motivated professional to join our Lecturing team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education and have current veterinary industry experience with the ability to apply their skills to a broad range of tasks, relating to work within the companion animal industries.
Entry Minimum Requirements
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or a degree in Veterinary Science (registerable with the Veterinary Surgeon’s Board of South Australia).
- Minimum of 5 years of recent clinical experience in small animal veterinary practice.
- Demonstrated current competence in surgical and client-facing industry roles.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development across a broad range of veterinary clinical areas.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, TAE40116
- Working knowledge of a current veterinary practice software program.
- Current experience in the veterinary industry, particularly within the companion animal sector.
- Ability to apply clinical skills across a variety of tasks and settings.
- Broad knowledge relevant to units contained within the Certificate IV in Veterinary nursing, Certificate III in Animal Care Services and Certificate II in Animal Care qualifications.

Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to demonstrate having a valid DHS Working With Children Check (WWCC) prior to being employed. Applicants who do not hold a WWCC will need to apply at Department of Human Services (DHS).
- Out of hours work may be required and a flexible approach to the hours of duty is essential.
- Some Intrastate and interstate travel may be required.
- May be required to relocate to other campuses within TAFE SA.
- Incumbent will be required to participate in the Department’s performance Development Program.
